For this Brews and Views adventure I will be joining Cort Sessions at his Corthouse Brewing to do a side-by-side lager brewday. We will be both using 21 lbs of 2 Row and 1 lbs of acidulated malt. We will be using magnum hops to bitter and at flame out I will use citra for aroma and flavor and Cort will use saaz hops. We will both brew ten gallons and ferment using Novalager yeast. After the fourteen day fermentation we will have a taste test to see if beer novices can tell any discernable difference between the two brews. Cheers.

Our last day in Vietnam was spent in Da Nang. The crew gathered at Ziah's house to bid him farewell and then spent the evening wandering the town until we all ended up at the dragon bridge. I'm going to miss Vietnam. This country enchanted me and continued to surprise me with incredible adventures and delicious food and beer. Even before departing for home many of use were already plotting our return. For fans of travel Vietnam should be at the top of your list of countries to explore. Cheers!
WTW S6E8: Goodbye Vietnam
This is a Brews and Views adventure worthy of an emperor. My travel beer for this view is a Volksmarsch Marzen from @walkingtreebrewery out of Vero Beach, Florida. These WTB beers keep me rooted in good beer during my travels. The Forbidden Purple City locating in the greater Imperial Palace was a sight to behold. I love stopping at the various information displays and reading about local history. I might be the slowest in the crew because of all my reading but I find history fascinating and like to see how it connects to the current events of the day. Some high school aged kids asked to take pictures with some of our group and for the rest of the day it became a thing.
WTE S6:E7 The Forbidden Purple City, Huế Vietnam
Hoi An is such a wonderful city to explore. It's a foodie town for sure and has an incredible vibrant night life culture. I will miss it. We took off from Hoi An early in the morning via a rented van. Thao, Ziah's wife, was incredible and talked to the van driver making sure the itinerary was understood. She also helped us negotiate the price of the rental for the entire day. Our first stop on the way to the city of Hue was to go climb the stairs and crawl through the caves of Marble Mountain. It was wild walking on trails made of un-mined natural white marble. After we explored the temple caves and hiked to the top of the mountain we set of once again for Hue where we would be staying at the five star Imperial Hotel. #beer #brewery #travel #adventure #huevietnam #vietnam
WTE S6:E6 Leaving Hoi An to Hue Vietnam
Exploring the old city of Hoi An Vietnam with my siblings and their partners is too much fun. I love these travellers. We laughed so hard and so long at each other and with each other. Trying new foods, riding coconut boats and exploring the city by scooter has made our family bonds even stronger. Hoi An is a must see city.

Taking the gondola up to Ba Na Hills to drink a Walking Tree Brewery IPA above the clouds is an incredible experience. To add even more awesomeness was touring BaNa Brew House, a four story brewery built on the side of a mountain. For a beer loving traveller this was a mind blowing adventure. The real draw to Ba Na Hills Vietnam is the old French village built at the top of the mountain. A castle and shops have been added to the mountain top with a beautiful Buddhist temple at the very tip top. For this Wired To Explore adventure the crew heads over to Da Nang Vietnam to search out good food, amazing sights and of course, great beer. WTE S6:E3 Da Nang Vietnam Adventures
I call this Pliny The Elder clone recipe Nathan's Pine Tree and its a Utah Pale Ale because I was dry hopped with Cascade hops I harvested with Nate near his home in Utah. This UPA turned out to be a killer ale. I jokingly say it is inspired by Nate's descriptions of a strong double IPA tasting kind of like a pine tree. He's not wrong, I happen to like a hint of pine in my Westcoast style ales.
